Can I Have Your Closet: Caroline Levy

I met Caroline Levy in math class. She is friends with a girl that I've known since I was around nine years old (you'll see more about her next Monday); we just sort of hit it off. I have a theory that our math teacher hates me because I talk to them 85% of the time. Oops. Most of my friends are art majors such as myself, but drama majors (like Caroline) are a close second. She is not one of those actresses who is ostentatious and constantly acting--I know a few several people like that, and it's unbearable. Nope: Caroline is just a sweet gal that loves to act, take photographs and is obsessed with fashion. She's two years older than me, but that doesn't stop her from being über nice and supportive about my blog and my fashion endeavors. She literally hug-attacked me in the hallway when I told her that Bill Cunningham took my photo in the tents. It was so adorable. The best part was that she actually knew who he was--she's quite educated in the fashion department, always a plus. We have some pretty in-depth conversations about designers and clothing and all that delicious stuff while attempting to write geometry proofs.

The thing that I love about Caroline's style is how laid back yet interesting it is. You can tell she knows how to wear her clothes and how to have fun with them. The worst thing is when people just wear the same thing over and over again. It's like, there are a million options and you choose to wear those three pieces the same way you did last week? Lame. Caroline never looks over-done or like she's trying too hard; she's got that natural beauty thing goin' on. Mah fave! Now that I've written a good two paragraphs about this chick, why don't you read our interview together to find out the deetz?

Note: Caroline usually speaks much more eloquently; I think she was just nervous. I don't know why, though, I don't think I'm intimidating at all; I'm a short little hobbit.

Odelia: How would you describe your style?
Caroline: Um...oh God. Crap! [Laughs] I would say classic, I definitely like classic styles and...kind of like with a little—like, kind of preppy, and...like...ahhh. I can't do this, oh my God. Um...classy. Well put together! My style is well—oh, no sorry! [Laughs]
Odelia: Okay, who are your style icons and who do you admire aesthetically?
Caroline: Okay I—can it be designers?
Odelia: Yeah.
Caroline: Okay I love Proenza Schouler, I like—they're so—like, the patterns they put together are so unbelievable. They just look so good together. And I wish I could pull off their outfits every single day. And I guess Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, um...I like the timeless, like classic of their—I don't know, black on black ensembles, like for Audrey Hepburn. And I mean, of course Anna Dello Russo, I love her, she's like, amazing, I love her style. And that's pretty much it.
Odelia: Where are your favorite places to shop?
Caroline: I would say Nordstrom Rack, definitely, jeans and shoes from there, uh...American Apparel, I hate to say it, but yeah. [Laughs] Not Urban Outfitters, nope, I'm not saying Urban Outfitters...I guess...I don't know! I can't think! Oh—Second Time Around. That's pretty much it, I guess.
Odelia: If you could own one item right now that you don't have, what would it be?
Caroline: [Is at a loss for words]
Odelia: You can do more than one if you'd like.
Caroline: Oh my God, okay: I want a Cambridge Satchel in like, neon green or orange...and, oh my God! Christian Louboutin studded black loafers. Definitely.
Odelia: Okay, last question: would you say that fashion is a big focus in your life?
Caroline: Yes.

How cute is she?

Just smizing

Check out dat Ayrmehz! (Translation: Hermès)

Is it cheetah print, or are those flowers? The world may never know.

It's like having a painting next to your eardrums. That is such an art school pun, I can't even...

Her coat is lined with yellow quilted fabric, and she didn't want any pictures of it. That fish cray.

I forgot to mention before that Caroline is also a newbie fashion blogger, check dat shiz out. She also Flickrs (if this is a verb, as "Tumble" is). She is quite a talented photographer, I suggest Flickr-ing her Flickr flickrflickrflickr. You understand? flickr?
Sorry that kept going on for so long I was just really, really entertained by it.

Today and tomorrow I'm going to see private press previews for several fall collections. #maddhypeyo
Today was Michael Angel's clothes; you can read more about my experience and the scrumpdiddlyumptious garments tomorrow evening on Chictopia.

See you on da flip side!
