Trending Next Spring: Is That A Detachable Collar?

The answer may or may not be no. This spring, designers were emulating the supah-mind-blowing-ness of detachable collars...by attaching them to the garments. Insane, right? I was a bit inspired to cover this trend right now because of my post the other day that featured by new leather detachable collar from ASOS. However, instead of having to choose where/when to wear (that's a silly phrase) your collar, the designers decided to eliminate that step and make the decision for you. You're now wearing a hot pink collar with your black-and-neon-green-striped dress whether you like it or not. And apparently, people like it.  Designers that took this trend and ran with it: Carven and House of Holland primarily. Tommy Hilfiger dabbled in it a bit, and what little he did was remarkable.

This trend can go either way--you can make it a part of your outfit and have the color blend in or reference other articles of clothing, or, and this is my favorite one, wear a contrasting collar so different from the rest of your outfit that people think, "Is that a detachable collar?" (hence the title of this post). I'll show you some picz, then you can take your pick.

And there you have it! Another spring trend to look forward too. This is a trend that I am so ready to rock your socks with. How are y'all feelin' 'bout it?
